WELCOME TO EPIC DANCE CENTER

Welcome to EPIC Dance Center, a Miami Beach dance company established in 2013. We are proud to be the only full service dance studio in Miami Beach with several locations and specializing in all styles of dance. Classes begin at infancy with Mommy & Me/Daddy & Me classes, and continue to all ages, including pre-professional level, adult and seniors.
 
Our MISSION To provide our Miami Beach community of dancers with a technically rich dance education at an affordable cost in order to provide the opportunity for all to experience the art of Dance. We are committed to not only developing amazing dancers, but also creating a safe and fun environment in which to develop amazing people. We realize the influence we have on our dancers on a daily basis, and we strive to surround them with positive support, motivation and encouragement to build confidence, promote self esteem, and build future leaders and kind individuals.

MEET THE EPIC DANCE FAMILY

KRISTINE RODRIGUEZ B.S.ed, M.B.A.
Miss Kristy is our Director, Founder and Instructor. She has over 25 years of experience instructing children and adults of all levels and ages, as well as over 40 years of dance experience. A Miami Beach native, Kristine began her dancing, modeling and acting education at the age of 4, began competing in regional and national dance competitions at the age of 7, and has been active in the industry ever since. Kristine trained professionally at DancExchange, Inc., Ballet Etudes of South Florida, and Charles Drew Elementary School’s Magnet Dance and Drama program. She was a Miami Beach Senior High School's "Body & Soul" Dance Team member and was the SGA President, a Silver Knight nominee and spoke at her graduation. Kristine attended the University of Miami and earned a BS.ed in both Elementary Education & Theater Arts, graduated on the Dean’s List and was a Hurricanette for the Band of the Hour. While at university, she created the award winning Starlettes Hip Hop Dance Team for the City of Miami Beach. Kristine taught Kindergarten while earning her M.B.A. from Nova Southeastern University. She created EPIC Dance Center in 2013 as a mobile dance company as she has always felt that professional and affordable dance classes should be experienced by every child. Through her ability and willingness to travel to the dancer, she has made dance accessible to all by expanding to several locations in South Florida. Kristine served as the Dance Director, Performing Arts Coordinator, Co-Sponsor for the Middle & Upper School Thespian troupes, and Director of Auxiliary Programs at the prestigious Palmer Trinity School.
Kristine’s Credits include: International print ads, Orange Bowl parades, national infomercials, bilingual commercials, Sabado Gigante, Telenovelas, Regional Ballet and Theater productions and choreography for Pirates of Penzance and In The Heights, Burn Notice, The Balancing Act, Rock of Agesthe Rose Bowl National Football Championship Halftime Show, Miami PAVAC, the New Years Day Rose Bowl Parade, Hurricanette Alumni Game Halftime Shows, Future Faces of America title holder, the Cinderella International Scholarship Pageant title holderMiss. America Scholarship Preliminary Finalist.

HALI SHIELDS B.S.
Miss Hali has over 15 years of experience instructing children and adults and over 30 years of ballet and modern dance experience. She began her studies at The Dance Company in St.Augustine, Florida under Carol Dickens, Monica MacBeth, and Ellie Potts Barrett. She also attended Ormond School of Ballet under the direction of Jane Bradshaw and Dulce Anaya at the Dulce Anaya School of Ballet in Jacksonville, Florida. Hali danced with several professional ballet companies including Boston Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, Orlando Ballet, and Kaatsbaan International Ballet. She has performed in many notable ballet performances among her favorite was dancing the role of the "Dying Swan" originally performed by Russian prima ballerina Anna Pavlova. She is a certified yoga 200 hr instructor and holds several certifications as a barre fitness instructor with the International Ballet Barre Fitness Association. She holds a B.S. degree in Health Science and IBCLC credential and currently works as a lactation consultant at Mercy Hospital and Jackson Hospital.

NIA HINDS B.S.
Miss Nia is a graduate of the University of Miami in Criminology and Political Science, and minoring in History and Anthropology. Originally from Burlington New Jersey, Nia has been dancing for nearly 20 years, during which she has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, acro/tumbling, modern, contemporary/lyrical, hip hop, heels, and pointe at Miss Sandy's Dance Steps and Arabesque Studio of Dance and Modeling. She went on to dance with En Pointe Studio in Pennsylvania in The Nutcracker, The Wizard of Oz, and The Little Mermaid, in which she performed a duet as one of Ursula's eels. During High School, Nia worked with the Philadelphia Dance Company, Philadanco, as a Junior Company member from 2011-2013. Nia is a current member of the University of Miami’s Hip Hop Dance Team, KAOS. Nia has also performed solos for the Opening Ceremony of Black Awareness Month, as well as preforming in heels for the opening performance for Homecoming in 2017.
